KeymasterThere are lots of CV re-writing services out there that can help.
The thing to consider is whether what you’re putting in the CV / resume is what the ‘reader’ (Hiring Manager or client) is going to connect with.
The rewriting service will work with the words you’ve got there and refine them but they are not experts in your given area of work and they won’t have done the job you’re going after.
Spend some time thinking through the role and challenges the ‘reader’ has in front of them and the reasons why they are seeking someone to come and perform the role.
Then write your CV / resume to answer those challenges, demonstrate expertise in the field and bring examples of your achievements and experiences that relate.
The ‘reader’ will then connect with the words and their own challenges making your CV / resume stand out to them.

KeymasterI find it helps if I understand the challenges they have in their work and jobs – get inside their mind. If I can then relate that back to the achievements or objectives I’ve delivered in previous roles, or aspects of my experience that I can relate back to their challenges, it has a positive effect not just on the role but also on my confidence in winning the role.
Mindset is often a mis-quoted and mis-understood thing, but you know when you feel it if you’re in the right mindset or not.

KeymasterKnowing who you are targeting helps drive what you put in your CV.
Focus on the jobs they need to get done, the pains they experience in trying to do the work and the gains they’re after.- This reply was modified 6 years, 5 months ago by
